Uniform Wares + MoMA
Uniform Wares and MoMA collaborate on an exclusive M40 watch design
It’s an honour to announce that we’ve worked with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) on the design of the Uniform Wares + MoMA M40 watch. A year in the making, the watch exemplifies what both Uniform Wares and MoMA are about, as well as our mutual appreciation of attention to detail and considered design.
Based on our bestselling M-line case architecture, we created the most reduced and refined version of our M40 model, taking inspiration from our first and most iconic piece – the original 100 Series watch. The 100 Series’ status as a design classic was sealed when it was included in the permanent architecture and design collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 2011.
The Uniform Wares + MoMA M40 watch was developed in our London studio and assembled by our manufacturing partners in Switzerland. It has a two-hand complication and stripped back dial with fine, printed indices and tonal details in seven variations of black and grey. It has a PVD black satin-brushed case with a heavy bead-blasted bezel. Uniform Wares + MoMA is etched on the caseback to reveal the raw stainless steel underneath. The black nappa leather strap has been specially designed with a black lining and Uniform Wares + MoMA debossing on the strap back. Its pared back detailing is an exercise in discretion and versatility and makes it the perfect wardrobe staple for men and women with an appreciation for contemporary design.
The Uniform Wares + MoMA M40 watch is available for pre-order now. We hope you enjoy the results of our work together!
